These tools are totally convenient and are a massive time saver, time you my be in desperate need of. Any idiot can get a fire going. What is truly important is being able to keep the fire going. In most scenarios, especially in instances of extreme cold, keeping a fire going is key to staying alive. You need to ensure that proper airflow and wood supply is maintained.
